Many people have been diagnosed as having some sort of gluten intolerance. Blame it on genetics, or the GMO’s, or the pesticides used on the crops. Whatever the reason, it’s time to get focused and bring your body back to it’s prime. This blog is designed to help you with the everyday challenges, successes and struggles that we, as gluten free people, face. It’s not about feeling bad for ourselves or about feeling deprived, and it’s not a place to question why you are doing what you are doing, but a place to feel confident in your decision.
There are certain times in our lives, like dinner dates, bbq’s, dinner at friends, holidays and parties that normally stress us out. Being gluten free should not add to that stress. It should only make you feel better that you are eating and living a healthier lifestyle. When I say eating gluten free, I don’t only mean eating all the frozen, processed, pre-packaged foods that are now available. You can eat some of that, however, I am talking about eating naturally gluten free. That means concentrating on foods that are rich in whole grains (quinoa, brown rice), lean protein, and fresh vegetables (the greener, the better, and the more colorful the salad, the more vitamins you get) and fruits. It’s best to stay away from preservatives so your body can recover from whatever damage it has been dealing with.
Beginning a gluten free lifestyle is a challenging one. I am not going to tell you that it’s a picnic and you won’t experience difficulties. I will say that it will become a part of you. It will be a normal part of your life, once you accept it and incorporate it with open arms. Instead of focusing on the things you cannot eat, focus on all the foods you can eat. Use this blog as a resource, a treatment, a coaching tool, or in any other capacity you feel fit. I am here to help you.
